Vision for Learning
From the Foundation Stage, the children progress into Key Stage One. We believe that children learn best when the curriculum is broad and balanced and, at Langshott, the learning experiences are meticulously planned to provide rigour, excellence and enjoyment in equal measure.
The organisation of the curriculum gives us a systematic approach to the teaching of the key skills for basic Literacy and Numeracy as well as the application of Information Technology. These subjects are taught discretely and also form a natural part of the learning that children undertake in other subjects. Science and the foundation subjects are taught through carefully planned topics to create strong links so that knowledge and skills can be used across the curriculum.
- Information Communication Technology
- Religious Education
- Design and Technology
- Modern Foreign Language (at KS2)
- Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education
- Physical Education
Our curriculum is just one step in the learning journey for our children. We recognise that learning begins at birth if not before. We aim to promote an interest in learning that will carry on throughout a child’s life. We liaise very closely with families, pre-schools and local junior schools to provide continuity of education from three to eleven years.
