RSE

Year 2 classes will be teaching RSE during the week commencing 29th June 2020. The scheme of work covers:

  • Life cycles in nature
  • Growing from young to old
  • Increasing independence
  • Differences in female and male bodies (correct terminology)
  • Assertiveness
  • Preparing for transition

Please seuse this page for some activity suggestions that your child can do relating to some of these areas. There you will find different activities, supporting websites and links.

To avoid confusion, it is important that the proper terminology for the parts of the body are used from Reception upwards. It is fine for children to call the parts of the body by the ‘home’ names when not in school, but to prevent misunderstanding and confusion during lessons and school, proper names will be used, for example: penis; vagina; and nipple etc.
