Have you had a good breakfast to set you up for the day?
We found at school that the children would benefit from further time practising and revising long division and therefore, we are continuing with the work from last week in maths today and tomorrow. You may have found the same and so please feel free to continue with that. If, however, you managed to complete all of the tasks last week, then we have attached two booklets (one multiplication and one division) for you to work through this week.
We are not beginning our unit of work inspired by the book, 'Skellig'. Did anyone manage to buy a copy of the text? We would highly recommend it as a fantastic read if you are looking for book inspiration. Today, the focus is on prediction based on the book jacket, blurb and first two chapters. Have a look through the resources we have included and enjoy.
We are also starting a new text in reading today - 'Music Box'. This is another fictional text and we hope you enjoy it. Once again, the focus will be on predicting skills today.
Finally, we have art planned in. As it will be Father's day at the weekend, we thought it would be nice to give you the chance to make a card. Have a look at the idea that we are going to use, but if you don't have access to the resources that you will need, or you have a different idea yourself, please feel free to use your own creativity to design a card.
If you have time, try to fit in a daily mile. We are timing the children in school and setting them the individual challenge to beat their time. What time are you managing it in?
Enjoy your day,
Mr Smallman, Miss Booker and Mrs Bartolo.
