How to help at home

Reading
Daily reading is SO important.  Reading supports all areas of the curriculum and can help to develop accurate spelling skills.  Now that the children are older, they can read independently.  However, sharing a book is still a valuable experience and enjoyable for everyone!  The children can have a reading book and a library book.  Recent visits from teachers at Oakwood School reminded us of the importance of being able to read across the curriculum.

Spelling
Support your child with their spelling list and spelling rules every week.  This can be done in a creative way – make spelling fun!

Maths
Support the learning of times tables and division facts to ensure that your child has quick and accurate recall of them.
