WEATHER UPDATE - Friday 02/03/18

Dear Parents,

It is with regret that we will have to close the school tomorrow, Friday 2nd March, due to the adverse weather conditions.  We will be open again on Monday.

We have tried very hard to remain open but have encountered several difficulties today, namely  frozen pipes putting some of our toilets out of action; keeping the buildings adequately  heated and keeping the outside areas safe. The yellow weather warning is still in place for tomorrow with more snow predicted, so I anticipate difficulties for travel in the morning for our staff, several of whom have some distance to travel. Taking all this into consideration and putting the health and safety of staff and pupils first,  I feel it is prudent to close.

I do apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause, but I hope that by informing you of this now, it gives you adequate time to make arrangements for the supervision of your children tomorrow.

Please encourage your child to do some school work tomorrow  – mathletics, spellings, times tables and reading are all great ideas to keep busy.  Year 6 children should also work through their CGP guides.

Kind Regards,
Mrs  Mackintosh
Headteacher
